ONTARIO JIU JITSU ASSOCIATION IS PROUD TO HOST 2021 ONTARIO PROVINCIAL JIU JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP!

The OJA would like to invite and welcome all Jiu Jitsu Practitioners from all provinces and nationalities to compete in one of the most prestigious tournaments in Ontario.

ALL ATTENDEES FROM 12 YEARS OF AGE AND ABOVE MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED, AND PRESENT A DIGITAL OR PRINTED COPY OF THE VACCINATION CARD 

THIS EVENT IS A PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY! 

This event will be GI ONLY. Divisions will be for all ages (starting at 4 yrs old), belts and weight classes

Event is sanctioned by Ontario Jiu Jitsu Association. All athletes are required to have a valid membership.

Regular Price: $85+tax (Kids) / $99+tax (16+ yrs old)

OJA SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR COVID-19

Note: Protocols are based on currently information from Public Health and venue. It might change at any time. Please check this page prior to the event.

Due to the ever changing situations during this time, we are always evaluating on a day-to-day basis the health issues and local Public Health orders in regards to contact sports.

In the case of a forced event cancellation, all registration fees will be automatically refunded.

The organization and /or event promoter is not responsible for the participants other expenses such as, but not limited to; transportation and lodging.

Venue Guidelines:

Proof of full vaccination is required to enter the Markham Pan Centre by visitors who are 12 years of age and older

Health screening required prior to arrival at Markham Pan Centre: markham.ca/simpletrack

Competitors can only enter the venue the day they are competing. To maintain social distancing we will have one entrance and one exit , and we will reduce the number of people able to enter the venue;

Every athlete is eligible to bring ONE coach or companion/ parent, with free admission; no other spectators will be allowed. They must enter the venue with the competitor. Registered OJA Coaches are not required to enter with an competitor.

For the sake of all competitors and staff, please check your temperature BEFORE coming to the event. If there are any signs of symptoms or high temperature, please remain at home and contact your health provider. This is extremely important for everyone involved.

If you are currently sick or have been exposed to someone that has tested positive for COVID- 19, please stay at home and contact your health provider.

All of our equipment will be properly sanitized prior to and during the event throughout the day.

Our staff will be wearing a mask and gloves .Masks or face shields will be required to be worn inside the building and can only be removed for your matches.

Please wash your hands regularly. Hand sanitizer will be made available at multiple stations throughout the venue. All mat areas will also be cleaned regularly.

We will do our best to provide a safe environment for you to compete in while giving you the best tournament experience possible. You can help by adhering to these guidelines.

MORE INFORMATION

  • MASKS are MANDATORY at ALL TIMES (except during your match)
  • You must check your registration information on the competitor list before the registration check day. Make sure that all the information is correct. If there are any issues contact us immediately.
  • Make sure to have a clean gi in proper condition according to OJA rules.
  • The athletes must keep the kimono and belt tied to the waist at all times while in the waiting or competition area.
  • Athletes MUST WEAR SHOES all the time. 
  • The referee makes the final decision and will not tolerate any complaints or make changes to the decision
  • The athletes are not allowed to jump over the fences/barricades in the competition area.
  • Make sure to get to the event at least 45 minutes prior to your bracket schedule. You should be warmed up by the time your bracket is called.
  • Make sure to listen to the division calls on the PA System.
  • In the bull pen area, pay attention to the ring coordinator calls. The ring coordinator will be wearing a vest with the ring number for your division.
  • After the ring coordinator call, go to the weight in area, to check weight and have your gi inspected (in gi tournaments).
  • Do NOT remain in the competition area after the end of your fight. Return to the warm up area, and remain there until the ring coordinator calls you for the next round if you won your previous match.
  • Be respectful to the staff, officials other athletes and coaches. In turn they will show you the same courtesy.
  • Be respectful to the referees, showing consideration and appreciation for the performance of his or her duties.
  • Any disputes regarding matches are to be settled by the Referee. All decision by the Referee will be final.
  • Direct all questions to tournament staff at the administration table. We will do our best to answer your questions as quickly as possible. Please be patient with questions as there are a lot of competitors at the event. As such we remain busy throughout the day.
  • Please maintain your belongings. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items
